Hello! We hope everyone has been able to stay warm this winter! This month’s newsletter is over our time in Greece. We were able to stay the longest in Greece and are leading a trip to Athens with Hellenic Ministries this coming June! We hope that you will pray about partnering with us through various means including prayer, encouragement and financially. Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers as we are preparing for this summer. We are so excited to see what God does through us as we are there.
We were blessed to meet a pastor whom is working on a research degree in Thessaloniki, Greece where we sat and talked with him in a coffee shop. He has been working with the refugees. They would bring the refugees to a church so they could do their laundry, shower, and eat. There is 50% unemployment in Greece. The goal is to create church unity with projects for the refugees.
His prayer points include: salvation for muslims and they would be called to ministry, be recognized by the government, the economy crisis, refugees getting back in church, for the refugees to have hope, unity in the churches, to finish his research degree, emotional support, encouragement, more workers, translators, long term USA visas, revival, and Christians to wake up.
Visiting Athens we got to really experience the city as we were able to stay here close to the longest (riviling with Istanbul) . If the buildings are not historic they are plastered with graffiti. Some beautiful, others speaking of the discontent of the greeks. Most often we saw the phrase “WAKE UP” all over the city which is wildly prophetic as that is the cry of many believers, that others would “Wake up” to the call of God on their lives. The second most common graffiti topics were those that said “F* the police!” and other similar phrases. In this you can see the reflection of the people distrusting their own government. A few months later there were massive wildfires in Athens, to which most locals attribute this to the government starting the fires for more sympathy from the European Union.
We were so honored to visit the Greek Bible College in Athens, Greece. This Bible College is the only one acknowledged by the government in all of Greece. They also have the largest Christian/Theological library in Greece that ministers are welcome to borrow from. They train their students for four years and their students have a plethora of ministries they work under. They also work in one of the largest refugee camps in Greece. We absolutely fell in love with this school and everything they’re doing. (Alyssa and Jonna are even tempted to take a few classes!) https://www.greekbiblecollegeisp.com/
What they wanted prayer for: is to make sure they’re focusing on the Lord, new church plants, for the refugee crisis along with the economic crisis.
We so loved meeting with Hellenic Ministries in Athens, Greece. The main leader Jonathan has an incredible understanding of the Bride of Christ and how different cultures have special giftings in the ministry. He and his team are so passionate about people and they have so much love that we were in awe. They have a wonderful dental clinic, a pregnancy care center, an Iranian, Dari, and Arabic Bible translation/sermon podcasts/worship broadcast, they also feed hundreds of refugees and homeless Greek nationals. They have a huge vision to see their country come out of poverty and we are so honored to have made a connection with this ministry. We will be leading a team with them this coming June! https://hellenicministries.org/ https://eurorelief.net/
The prayer points they have here are: for strategy for motivation, a dampener for media room, more volunteers (300), finances, expanding their building, wisdom, discernment, and a continued vision.
We would like to thank you all for your continued support of our vision. We are so humbled to be a part of the amazing shifts happening in these countries.
