The Nations Call in Kosovo and Albania

I hope this newsletter finds you all well! All of us on The Nations Call team wish you a very happy Thanksgiving! We spent the last May15-June22 all across Eastern Europe doing missions and meeting contacts in various places in the Balkan region. This month we’re talking about Kosovo and Albania. Thank you so incredibly much for partnering with us on any and every level. Thank you for partnering with us financially, through prayer, and helping us go on this trip in anyway. Our gratitude for you cannot be described in words.

The third place we traveled to was Pristina, Kosovo. Kosovo is a newly developed country formed in 2008. They were formed due to all the war evolving Albanians and Serbians. In this country there is a lot of ethnic division between the two. If you’re Albanian you want to live where the Albanian police are and vice versa. There is still a lot of hurt from the war over this land. This region was completely destroyed with the war and are now currently rebuilding with modern buildings. We were only able to stay here for a few hours but what we found interesting was that the families live in what appear to be town houses. The grandparents live in the top floor, the parents in the middle, and the adult children in the lower. If you want to see the family saved you have to save top to bottom, elders to youths.

The missionary here told us that they work with a lot of Albanian Muslims and youth. In the future they are planning a VBS for the children in the area. However they aren’t totally set up in their ministry yet. This family’s ultimate goal is to be working in a different town somewhat close to Pristina. https://apme.ro/

They need prayer for: vision while relocating and opportunity to work with people in this society that is so closed off to the love of Jesus, strategy for their programs, supernatural help with learning languages, and unity with the other missionaries in the area.

The next location we visited was Korce, Albania. This missionary has such a heart to see this country changed for good. Although there aren’t many churches in Korce, he reaches people wherever they are. One of the ways he does this with his barber shop in the heart of town. Some long term goals he has for this area would be: a biking and camping ministry where people could be discipled, he would also love to have a church building in Korce.

Some things he needs prayer for are: unity, vision for how to reach people more, that the economy would start to flourish, that their goals would be accomplished and to find a place for church.
